Types of Surveys

Which Survey is for You?

A Building Survey takes longer and is more detailed in execution and reporting.

A Homebuyer is a stripped down, software generated report; the time spent on site is shorter and the report is lighter.

We offer both surveys - but a Building Survey is more thorough and is possibly better suited to the biggest financial outlay of your life.

There are two types of surveys:

A Building Survey is ideal for an older property, where investigative time can & should be spent looking into every nook and cranny.

A Homebuyer Report is a report generated from a Template issued by the RICS, and is for recent, conventionally built structures.

What does a survey involve?

A Building survey is the more complicated of the two types and requires a greater depth of investigation and reporting writing to the Client.  It is a bespoke service and in consequence is more expensive.

A Homebuyer report is created by report generating software licenced by the RICS to their members.  Due to the “Click and Insert” nature of standard paragraphs in the report, it is aimed at institutionally acceptable,  traditionally built structures with no immediately obvious defects.  It includes a re-instatement figure and an Open Market Valuation.
